This is the homepage of Aerospace Material Laboratory at Mechanical Engineering Department in Tokyo Metropolitan University. We are targeting at improving the reliability of advanced materials for Aeronautical and Aerospace fields, and aiming at becoming an international researching laboratory through the collaboration with domestic and international research institutes. The major research project is to evaluate the properties and reliabilities of heat-resisting alloys used for gas turbine for airplanes and power plants. The study intends the alloys actually used for present engine of airplane and alloy designated for future engine, and has a purpose to analyze the damage mechanism under various mechanical loads. After creep and fatigue tests, we observe TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope) micrestructure in atomic order and analyze crystallographic structure using EBSP (Electron Back-Scattering Diffraction Pattern) We have co-research with JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) and Hybrid Material Center in NIMS (National Institute for Materials Science) about aerospace materials.
